Ellen Rozman comes to us with a passion and desire to share her knowledge about the importance of eating locally and sustainably. She enjoys nothing more than connecting community to local food, local farms and local business.
A former triathlete and runner, aerobics instructor and personal trainer, Ellen found her passion for sustainable food through a series of "ah-ha" moments, the finally culminating in a life threatening though life changing gut surgery.
The desire to return to health brought Ellen more in touch with her body's needs. After years of eating a vegetarian diet, she began to listen to her body's signals, many of which she had been denying for so long. As the pieces of the puzzle began to come together, a new picture of health emerged. She recognized how the gut plays such an integral role in overall health, both mental and physical.
Connecting with local farmers and ranchers, Ellen embraced the omnivore lifestyle without a dilemma. She is now The Locavore Next Door (www.thelocavorenextdoor.com) teaching classes an giving lectures to educate the public on how and why connecting to local is the key to their own personal health, the health of their local community and the sustainability of our planet.
